The War, directed and produced by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, tells the story of the Second World War through the personal accounts of a handful of men and women from four American towns.
WMFE is telling the stories of Central Florida's brave heroes, capturing their experiences and preserving their accounts for generations to come.
WMFE's The War: Central Florida Stories is a 90-minute documentary spotlighting 13 local veterans airing on Memorial Day Sunday, May 25, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. These personal accounts will be provided to the U.S. Library of Congress and to the Orange County History Center.

Not only does this project honor our veterans, our local heroes, but it also educates our children on the bravery, endurance and sacrifices they made during The War.
